Common Questions
Do I still need this if I already use QuickBooks?
QuickBooks is just the tool — someone still has to run it right. We keep it reconciled, categorized, and caught up so the numbers in there are actually correct.
What if my books are a mess right now?
That's most people when they call us. We start with a cleanup pass to get you current, then move you onto regular monthly bookkeeping.
Do you know if I'm actually making money on a job?
Yes — that's the whole point. Job costing shows you what each job actually made after materials, labor, and overhead, not just what hit your bank account.
How is this different from hiring an accountant?
An accountant usually shows up once a year for taxes. We're in your books every month, so you always know where you stand — and your accountant's job gets easier (and cheaper) at tax time.
What do you need from me?
Bank and card access (read-only) and receipts for anything that's not obvious. We handle the rest.
What if my transaction volume is higher than typical for my revenue size?
Pricing is based on typical transaction volume for each revenue range. If your business runs unusually high volume for its size, we'll flag that during onboarding and quote accordingly before any work begins.
Do you prepare tax returns or give tax advice?
No — we keep your books clean and ready to hand off, but we don't file taxes ourselves. Pair us with a CPA or EA, and tax season gets a lot easier for both of you.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. If we've completed less than 50% of the work for that period, you'll receive a full refund. Just reach out and we'll take care of it.
